Assigning a keyboard shortcut in Revit

Keyboard shortcuts are a great way to save time, especially when using tools that you frequently need.  The CLOSE HIDDEN WINDOWS tool for example, is great and can be used throughout a project, but could be improved by having a keyboard shortcut

This is how to ‘assign’ a keyboard shortcut to the ‘Close Hidden Windows’ tool.

Click the Application button. (top left)

Click OPTIONS at the bottom of the menu.

Select User Interface from the dialogue.

Then Click Customise next to Keyboard Shortcuts.

Use the Search window at the top to locate the command required.

Select the command in the Assignments panel.

At the bottom, input the shortcut you want to assign then click +Assign, then OK.

Now when you wish to close those hidden windows just press Q.
